九零年代世界独立界音乐界最受瞩目的音乐创作人之一，来自纽约的传奇女性创作歌手Cat Power在一九九八年发行风靡乐坛的经典专辑“Moon Pix”，让她成为独立音乐代表人物之一。更与Yo La Tengo、Belle & Sebastian等齐名成为纽约知名厂牌Matador Records 最重要的艺人之一，拥有不可思议的金唱片销量。而在日本她被誉为民谣音乐的唯一希望。

Chan Marshall, also known by her stage name Cat Power, is a legendary American singer-songwriter. She emerged in the 90’s and was signed by Matador Records, a well-known independent record label in New York City. By releasing her best-selling albums, Cat Power put her name on the label’s most important artists’ squad, joining Yo La Tengo, Belle & Sebastian and other famous acts. In 1998, she released Moon Pix, which became a classic later on and gained further recognition in the indie rock scene. In Japan, she was even hailed as the only hope of folk music.
