1996年，在中戏读书的章子怡接拍了她人生中的第一支广告代言，并获得了几百元的酬劳，那年她才17岁。其后章子怡被张艺谋发现，在电影《我的父亲母亲》中饰演招娣而一炮走红，成为继巩俐之后的第二位谋女郎。
